How can I insure my phone on a monthly premium?
A monthly premium can only be provided if the phone was purchased within the last 6 months. The first three months payment will be taken immediately then collected monthly from month four.
If my mobile phone is accidentally damaged, how do I get it repaired?
Advise CUSC by telephone, on 01243 790777. A claim form will be forwarded to you immediately advising you as to where the phone will be dispatched for immediate repair.
What if it cannot be repaired?
If your mobile phone cannot be repaired, it will be replaced with a new mobile phone of the same make. If the model is no longer in production or is not available, it will be replaced with a phone of a specification at least equal to the item insured.
If my mobile phone is stolen, how do I go about making a claim?
The theft must be reported to the police within 24 hours and a crime reference number obtained if it is a theft claim. A claim form should be obtained from CUSC by telephoning 0870 416 3353.
Can I take my mobile phone abroad and still be covered?
Yes, FoneGuard is valid worldwide and you may therefore take your mobile phone with you when you travel abroad.
Can I leave my mobile phone unattended in my car?
Yes, but only if secured in the locked boot of the car or a locked glove compartment.
Is there any excess payable when making a claim?
Yes, £25 is payable against all valid claims. For all 3G phones an excess of £50 will be charged.
Does changing or upgrading my mobile phone affect the cover?
No, you may change or upgrade your mobile phone, but must notify us of the make, and model and produce proof of ownership (eg. a receipt of purchase). No charge will be made for this service.
Is CUSC FSA regulated?
Yes CUSC is authorised by the FSA to advise and broker insurance cover for
mobile phones. Our registration number is 313851.
Is CUSC regulated under the Data Protection Act?
Yes, CUSC is registered with registration number Z974651X.
Can I cancel my new policy?
Yes, on receipt of the terms and conditions, you will have 14 days to decide if the policy wording meets with your requirements.
